Well, if you've been watching the national weather at all, you will know that the northern mid-west states have been hit by some pretty big storms and that includes us here in central Wisconsin. Since we moved here, both Cody and I have been looking forward to some good snow and up until a couple of weeks ago, we still hadn't had any. Of course, we don't like the bitter cold that sometimes accompanies a good snowfall, but we like to do outdoor activities and if there isn't much snow, that's hard to do in the winter.
Anyway, we now have lots of snow, which led to my taking a ski lesson and learning to ski. My lesson was fabulous. I had this cute 17-year-old boy as my instructor, who has been teaching skiing for 5 years. That was cool because he just let me go at my own pace and really encouraged me to take some chances. This led to my really enjoying skiing. So, here I am, on my own skis, at the top of Granite Peak mountain. Now, since I just learned to ski, I really had no right to be at the top of this hill, and as with most things, I was taught that the hard way - by tumbling down the steep part of the hill. Yes, I was put back into my place by the hill, so back to the green runs I went, happy to still be in one piece.
We're heading back out again this weekend, up to the UP of Michigan. Hopefully, I will still enjoy the sport after another day.
